Glendale to host "Recycled Art Exhibit" Oct. 1October 1, 2011 - 11:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Homenetmen Glendale Ararat Chapter will be hosting a "Recycled Art Exhibit" on Saturday, October 1, at the Ararat Center. Over the last four months, members have been collecting bottles, old sneakers, books, magazines and T-shirts and turned them into works of art. They go on display during an exhibit that is open to the public from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, according to announcement from the nonprofit that mostly serves Armenian American youth with sports and after-school programming. More than 200 people have been involved in the effort, including "shredding, cutting, dying, painting of materials that people would normally toss into the trash" for the art displays, according to the nonprofit. Some of the artwork will be available for purchase, Glendale News-Press reported.
