Luzenberger: pending Karabakh conflict negatively affects the region

PanARMENIAN.Net - EU is interested in better involvement in the settlement of conflicts at South Caucasus, the head of the European Commission Delegation to Armenia said.

As Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger noted in response to a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter’s question, the pending Karabakh conflict is negatively affecting the region, as well as the EU. “In case of renewed war, the exacerbated economic situation in the conflicting countries will give rise to a new flow of refugees, also foiling a number of energy and trade projects in the region,” the Ambassador said.

As he noted, the EU supports OSCE Minsk Group’s efforts for rapid settlement of Karabakh conflict.
