ANC representative hopes authorities will “hear people’s voice and go”October 12, 2011 - 13:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc’s non-stop rallies made it clear the Congress still has much to do to achieve President Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation, according to ANC representative. “Let’s hope the authorities will eventually realize the situation the people and the state have found themselves in, and take drastic steps in that connection,” Felix Khachatryan said. “Still, ANC is prepared to strive towards its goals using masses of supporters to pressure the government, with Sargsyan’s resignation and snap presidential election as its primary goal,” Khachatryan said. At Sept 30 rally, ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian announced 7-day-long round-the-clock protest actions with supporters putting up tents at Liberty Square. On Oct 8 the Congress terminated non-stop rallies, announcing immediate resignation of President Sargsyan as the main point of the resolution adopted. Next ANC rally is scheduled for Oct 28, with the Congress to decide on their further steps.
