Armenia U-17 to face Wales in European Championship qualifiers Oct 17

PanARMENIAN.Net - On October 17, Armenia will face off against Wales in UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifiers.

Armenia’s line-up at the qualifier is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Martin Gevorkyan; Samvel Hunanyan

Defenders: Robert Darbinyan, Serob Grigoryan, Arman Ghazaryan, Vahan Adloyan, Sipan Davtyan and Davit Asatryan

Midfielders: Hamlet Asoyan, Sargis Shahinyan, Artem Simonyan, Norayr Tigranyan, Nairi Minasyan, Eduard Avagyan and Aramais Keosayan.

Forwards: Vilen Ayvazyan, Vardan Bakalyan and Edgar Harutyunyan.

The UEFA European Under-17 Championship consists of three distinct stages: the qualifying round, the elite round and the final tournament.

The qualifying round, played in autumn, is made up of 13 groups of four teams playing in one-venue mini-tournaments. The top two from each progress alongside the two third-placed teams with the best record against the top pair in their group.

In the elite round, played in early spring, those 28 qualifiers compete in seven mini-tournament groups of four. The group winners progress to the finals.

Armenia U-17 squad will face Serbia and Lithuania on Oct 19 and 22 resp.
