  NATO Sec Gen. issues statement on Turkey quake October 24, 2011 - 11:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen issued a statement on the earthquake that hit Turkey’s Van province on October 23. “I am saddened by the news of the powerful earthquake that struck south-eastern Turkey, which is reported to have caused the loss of many lives and considerable damage. On behalf of NATO, I would like to convey my sympathy and solidarity to all those who were affected, to the Turkish people and the Turkish government,” he said. “NATO stands ready to assist our Ally Turkey, if needed.”   Top stories Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert.
