Hovhannes Gabuzyan, playing with white pieces, beat Marius Abramkius, to bring the fist victory to the Armenian team. Arman Mikaelyan, also playing with white pieces, scored a win against Yegor Prokop. Karen Grigoryan and Valery Iovkov, playing with black pieces, beat Valery Iovkov and Oleg Gorbanovsky resp. to crush Moldova 4:0. After the 2nd round, Armenia has 7,5 points to its score.
