Gagik Beglaryan may retake Yerevan Mayor’s position![]() October 28, 2011 - 14:57 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Rumors are afloat that former Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan may retake the position; according to different reports, Vice Mayor Taron Margaryan may assume the post. Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan resigned on December 8, 2010. The decision was prompted by the incident between the Mayor and employee of the presidential staff’s protocol department Aram Kandayan. On October 28, 2011 current Mayor Karen Karapetyan announced his resignation, citing another position to be assumed and personal reasons behind the decision. According to Armenian media reports, Karapetyan was offered the position of a deputy chairman of Gazprom board of directors. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
