Iran Foreign Ministry: Tehran, Moscow continue military cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast said that Tehran and Moscow are continuing their military cooperation.

Mehmanparast made the remarks during a press briefing on Tuesday, Nov 1 in reply to a question about the news reports saying that Russia has agreed to provide Iran with electronic warfare in return for the cancellation of the contract for delivery of the S-300 missile system to Iran.

Konstantin Biryulin, deputy director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation, said on October 25 that Russia has delivered to Iran a consignment of mobile radar radiation detectors and hopes to agree on a number of similar deals, RIA Novosti reported.

“We’re not talking here about aircraft or submarines or even S-300 systems. It is about providing security for the Iranian state,” Biryulin stated.

Mehmanparast said, “Tehran and Moscow have good relations, and we are continuing our military cooperation.”

If any agreement is made, it will be announced, he added, according to Mehr News.
