Armenian men’s team crashes Denmark at European Chess Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - The 5th round European Chess Championship was a success for Armenia.

Levon Aronian, Vladimir Akopian, Gabriel Sargissian scored wins, Sergei Movsesian shared points with the rival.

The team gained a 3,5:0,5 victory, coming 6th with 7 points. In 6th round Armenia will face Island.

In women’s tournament, Elina Danielian and Maria Kursova were defeated by Slovenian chess players, while Lilit Mkrtchian and Lilit Galoyan won their games. The came 11th with 6 points to face Greece in the next round.

38 men’s teams and 28 women’s teams participate in the Championship. Time control is 90 min for 40 moves + 30 min for the rest of the game + 30 sec increment for every move played starting from the first move.
