Armenia elected as UNESCO International Bureau of Education memberNovember 8, 2011 - 17:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has been elected as member of the UNESCO International Bureau of Education at the 36th session of the organization's General Conference. Having gained 108 votes in a competition with other 3 hopefuls, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Latvia, Armenia will be represented to the International Bureau by Deputy Education Minister Karine Harutyunyan. The International Bureau of Education (IBE) is a global centre in the area of curriculum development and a field-oriented institute supporting UNESCO action aimed at attaining quality education. IBE is governed by a Council composed of representatives of 28 member states elected by the General Conference of UNESCO.
