RPA: Prosperous Armenia’s win in Ijevan election display of democracy

PanARMENIAN.Net - A member of ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) takes Prosperous Armenia hopeful’s win at Ijevan’s mayoral election in its stride.

At news conference in Yerevan, Gagik Melikyan urged against politicizing the elections. “RPA, with 90% wins at local government elections, doesn’t have to emerge victorious every time. I believe Prosperous Armenia candidate’s victory is another display democracy,” the MP said.

“I’m glad of public opinion, suggesting RPA should always win the elections, which proves the Party is perceived as a leading political force,” he concluded.

Prosperous Armenia candidate Vardan Galumyan won November 13 Ijevan mayor race, outrunning current mayor, RPA candidate Varuzhan Nersisyan.
