The first international artist festival will be held in 2001 in the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh , for the preparation of which "Artsakh-2001" committee is set up in USA.As the correspondent of MEDIAMAX reports from Stepanakert, about this declared the culture minister of RNK Armen Sarkisian who has returned from a two-week visit from the USA and France. The festival, the frameworks of which will be enlarged in the future, is planned to become traditional and to be held once in two years. According to the minister, for the coming 4-5 years the festivals will be sponsored by armenian Diaspora donations, after which it will be possible to pass on to self-financing and to direct the means to the development of the culture of Karabakh. In Armen Sarkisian's opinion, the festival is unique by his form and content not only in Transcaucasus but in all the post-Soviet space as well.
