Hovik Abrahamyan officially resigns parliament speaker post

PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 21, Armenian National Assembly speaker Hovik Abrahamyan confirmed his resignation filed November 14.

According to article 19. 2 of RA NA regulations, if vacant, the position of parliament speaker must be filled by a deputy speaker to gain the majority of votes.

Thus, due to election results, the member of ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Samvel Nikoyan was elected as acting parliament speaker with 104 votes.
