Earlier in November, the authorities set free as many as 1,180 detainees, as part of the government pledges to release those who were arrested during the eight-month-old unrest. Releasing those who were arrested during the unrest has topped the demands by protesters in the country and was part of a deal concluded lately between the Syrian government and the Arab League ministerial committee to bring the Syrian crisis to a close.
