Oceana to perform official song for UEFA EURO 2012December 3, 2011 - 12:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Having had a No1 single in both co-host nations, German-American pop sensation Oceana has been chosen to work with UEFA on the official song for UEFA EURO 2012. Oceana – whose 2009 hit Cry Cry topped the charts in Poland and Ukraine as well as other European countries, and featured a video shot in Kyiv – is to deliver the song that will showcase next summer's much awaited UEFA European Championship to the world. Polish fans have not been able to get enough of Oceana. The 29-year-old not only won the audience award at the prestigious 2009 Sopot Song Contest, she also participated in the Polish version of the popular Dancing With The Stars television show. Also a presenter on the German/French Arte TV channel, she was introduced to UEFA by the Embassy of Music, UEFA official website said. Having trained as a dancer from the age of five, Oceana received a scholarship as a teenager to study singing and was persuaded to become a performer by renowned saxophonist and family friend Maceo Parker.
