Larisa Alaverdyan: nomination for parliament speaker a victory in itself

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nomination to the post of a parliament speaker is a victory in itself, Heritage opposition party’s candidate Larisa Alaverdyan told journalists after the vote.

On December 6, Yerevan will be hosting a secret ballot to elect Armenian National Assembly speaker, with Heritage nominee Larisa Alaverdyan and Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) candidate Samvel Nikoyan vying for the post.

On November 1, parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan announced his resignation to head RPA electoral headquarters and more effectively conduct the campaign. Abrahamyan officially resigned at November 14 parliamentary sitting.
