The two men focused on Armenia-EU economic ties, specifically the oncoming talks on deep and comprehensive free trade agreement. In this context, the Prime Minister briefed the Commissioner on reforms implemented in Armenia, expressing hope for the start of talks in 2012. Also, a meeting with the Director General of Europe Aid Development and Cooperation Directorate-General, Fokion Fotiadis was on Sargsyan’s agenda, with macrofinancing assistance discussed, governmental press service reported. ![]() ![]() Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
