Eduard Sharmazanov elected as vice speaker of parliament![]() December 6, 2011 - 21:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) nominee, former secretary of RPA faction Eduard Sharmazanov was elected Armenian National Assembly’s vice speaker. During the secret ballot, Sharmazanov’s candidacy was supported by 92 votes, while Heritage opposition party candidate Armen Martirosyan received 6 votes. Following his election, Sharmazanov thanked his supporters for his nomination and participation in the ballot, pledging to justify the trust he was extended “in advance.” ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
