Fassier welcomes Karabakh settlement even outside OSCE MG format

PanARMENIAN.Net - The outgoing French co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group said that even outside the MG format, Karabakh conflict settlement will be welcome.

“OSCE MG will support any type of compromise the parties to Karabakh conflict will be willing to accept,” Bernard Fassier told a news conference in Baku.

Dwelling on the involvement of UN Security Council in Karabakh settlement, Fassier noted, “people can’t be forced into accepting something they’re unwilling to accept, with compromise as the only option remaining. Unless UN Security Council is able to negotiate the parties into compromising, no forced solution is possible.”

In conclusion, Fassier stressed France’s interest in Karabakh settlement, APA reported.
