Polish MFA finances training of Armenian youngsters from rural areasDecember 21, 2011 - 16:09 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - In the framework of “Young Agriculturist Network as a chance for bettering lives of young rural dwellers in Armenia” project, financed by Polish Aid Development Co-operation Project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, “Development Principles” NGO held Youth Business Fair with participation of young members from YES rural youth clubs run by Development Principles NGO with the support of Heifer International. The Youth Business Fair was held on December 20 at Ani Plaza Hotel in Yerevan. The youth members from 20 rural communities presented their business proposals to get seed money to set up their own businesses. The youngsters also competed for Youth Business Awards YBA-2011. Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, Ministry of Agriculture PIU Director Gagik Khachatryan, representatives from the Embassy of Poland in Armenia, Armenian economists and businessmen attended the event. “Young Agriculturist Network as a chance for bettering lives of young rural dwellers in Armenia” is an educational program co-financed by the Polish development cooperation program 2011 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. The project is implemented jointly by Heifer International Poland and Development Principles NGO in 22 rural communities of Armenia where Development Principles NGO has established and has been successfully running rural youth clubs. The program includes provision of fruit trees and seedlings, as well as extracurricular classes on Leadership and management, Ecology and Business development to empower young people from rural communities of Armenia. The project has empowered over 700 rural girls and boys aged 10 to 16 from 22 different communities in Armenia.
