  Artsakh ex-FM: Russia may resolve Karabakh conflict in Baku's favour December 23, 2011 - 14:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia may resolve Karabakh conflict in Baku's favour to salvage the waning ties with Azerbaijan, however risking the loss of Armenia as a partner, according to former foreign minister of Nagorno Karabakh Republic. As Arman Melikyan told a news conference in Yerevan, Moscow has been losing its position in traditionally pro-Russian states like Syria and Libya. “Russia's influence is at risk. The criticism following State Duma elections proves the West doesn't view Russia as an equal partner,” Melikyan noted. “To preserve influence at South Caucasus, Russia must pursue a more balanced policy line,” the ex-FM concluded. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
