Arthur Abraham wins WBO European super middleweight titleJanuary 15, 2012 - 15:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian boxer Arthur Abraham (33-3, 27KOs) stopped Argentinean Pablo Farias (19-2, 11KOs) in the fifth round to capture the vacant WBO European super middleweight title. Abraham started slow but eventually he started to let his hands go and let the bombs fly in the fifth as he found his range. A combination to the head and body put Farias down early in the fifth. A moment later a second knockdown came, and then a barrage of punches put Farias down for a third and final time as the referee waved it off, Boxing Scene reported. Earlier, Abraham promised to make a spectacular comeback night when he takes on Farias in front of a sell-out crowd at the Baden Arena in Offenburg, Germany. “I will start the year with a victory and also end the year with a victory,” Abraham said. “I am determined to be world champion again in 2012,” sports media quoted him as saying.
