Aronian suffers first defeat at Tata Steel

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Levon Aronian suffered first defeat by Magnus Carlsen of Norway in round 3 of the 74th Tata Steel Chess Tournament ongoing in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands.

Currently, Aronian shares the 2-4th places with Timour Rajabov (Azerbaijan) and Fabiano Caruana (Italy).

In the next round, the Armenian grandmaster will face Gata Kamsky (U.S.). The other pairings are: Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) - Vugar Gashimov (Azerbaijan); Vassily Ivanchik (Ukraine) - Loek Van Wely (Netherlands); Fabiano Caruana - Magnus Carlsen; Anish Giri (Netherlands) - Hikaru Nakamura (U.S.); David Navara (Czech Republic) – Sergei Karjakin (Russia); Boris Gelfand (Israel) - Timour Radjabov (Azerbaijan).
