Russian expert says “external force” involved in Dink murder

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Hrant Dink murder case is “a dark page”, according to Russian political scientist Stanislav Tarasov.

“I had to discuss this problem with the management of Zaman newspaper in Istanbul. Dink called for development of mechanisms for co-existence of Turks and Armenians, first of all, having in mind, representatives of the Western Diaspora who were mainly the heirs of former citizens of the Ottoman Empire,” Tarasov told Analitika.at.ua.

According to the expert, “Hrant Dink ideas didn’t imply autonomy, as for example now Kurds demand. “That’s why Dink was in good relations with power, especially with the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Who killed Dink? There are a lot of versions. But too much is obvious. In my opinion there was a so-called “external power” involved,” the expert said.

Hrant Dink was assassinated on January 19, 2007 near his newspaper office in Istanbul. The gunman, Ogun Samast was found guilty and sentenced to 22 years and 10 months in prison.
