PanARMENIAN.Net - After the 9th round of the 74th Tata Steel Chess Tournament in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands, Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian headed the standings with 6,5 points while his win over Italy's Fabiano Caruana was named the best in the main tournament A.

After the match, Aronian admitted he gained advantage in the game quickly enough. “Although the opponent made a mistake, it took my efforts to keep the advantage and win.
