Rebel kills 4 in northern IndiaJanuary 28, 2012 - 14:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Police said a separatist rebel in northeast India opened fire at a police station where election voting was being held and killed four people before he was shot dead Saturday, Jan 28. According to The Associated Press, the police superintendent of Manipur's state district of Chandel says the gumman had posed as a voter in line, but then pulled out a revolver inside the building and started shooting indiscriminately. Superintendent Priyo Kumar Singh says the gunman killed two election workers, a paramilitary officer and a woman. The shooter is believed to have been a member of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland, which has been fighting for decades for an independent homeland. About 2 million Nagas live in northeast India bordering Myanmar.
