Al-Qaeda leader urges further revolt against Syria's Assad

PanARMENIAN.Net - Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has called on Syrians not to rely on the Arab League or the West in their uprising against the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, M&C reported citing DPA.

“Our people in Syria, don't count on the West, the United States, the Arab governments or Turkey,” al-Zawahiri said in a video posted on an Islamist website on Sunday, February 12.

The Egyptian-born former surgeon who succeeded Osama bin Laden urged Syrians to go ahead with their “uprising and anger” to install an Islamic government.
