ANC member dubs weather main reason for rally delay

PanARMENIAN.Net - ANC member and Armenian National Movement Board Chairman Aram Manukyan named bad weather conditions the only reason for shifting the date of the rally, initially scheduled for February 17.

“Nothing has happened. The 10-day delay is conditioned exceptionally by cold weather,” Mr. Manukyan said.

Dwelling on ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan’s statements that February-March months are the most favorable period for holding rallies, Mr. Manukyan voiced confidence for demonstrations to be attract masses.

“Social tensions and price upsurge are serious sources for bringing people to the square,” he stated.

The ANC rally scheduled for February 17 was shifted to March 1 due to unfavorable weather conditions.

On November 25, ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian set February 17 as the date for the next rally, which was to signal the launch of mass actions.
