Clinton not going to head World BankFebruary 16, 2012 - 11:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - White House Press Secretary Jay Carney refused to confirm or deny a new report that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wants to lead the World Bank after she leaves her current job, according to Washington Examiner. "There's been a lot of speculation in the press about this and other jobs, and I’m not going to confirm any of them," Carney said during the press gaggle, when asked if Clinton of White House economic advisor Larry Summers were under consideration for the World Bank job. Carney even refused to say if Clinton or Summers had any "good qualities" that might make them effective leaders of the World Bank. "I really don't have any information for you on potential successors at the World Bank." Meanwhile, according to Chcago Tribune, the State Department said Clinton has confirmed that she has no intention of becoming a candidate to head the World Bank following the June departure of outgoing President Robert Zoellick. "She has said this is not happening. Her view has not changed," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said when asked about periodic news reports that Clinton could be a candidate to lead the institution.
