Armenia to open regional staff training center jointly with EU

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia plans to open a regional center for staff training in the sphere of border control jointly with EU, Secretary of the Armenian National Security Council (NSC) said.

“The agreement signed with Frontex will further Armenia’s cooperation with the EU through implementation of joint actions, exchange of experience, etc,” Artur Baghdasaryan said at a briefing in Yerevan with Director-General of European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union (Frontex) Ilkka Laitinen.

He further added that the first works on establishment of border control infrastructures will start already in February. “I’d like to mention that the signed agreement covers not only creation of infrastructures but extends to a wider, global aspect,” NSC Secretary said.
