US DISAPPOINTED ARMENIAN DELEGATION DID NOT PARTICIPATE NATO CONFERENCE IN BAKUJanuary 16, 2004 - 22:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The US expressed disappointment on account of the fact that the Armenian defense ministry's delegation though being invited by the North Atlantic Alliance leadership could not take part in the Cooperative Best Effort-2004 NATO exercise-planning conference held in the capital of Azerbaijan, the officials of the US Embassy in Armenia stated when commenting to Regnum IA on the non-participation of the Armenian delegation in the NATO conference held within "Partnership for Peace" program. "We do not possess all the facts disclosing the reasons, by which the Armenian delegation could not be in Baku January 13. "Partnership for Peace" program was founded over 10 years ago and aimed at the contribution to the political dialogue between the NATO member-states and partner countries in the Central Europe and Eurasia. The program has a practical goal, i.e. the training of the armed forces of the NATO member and partner states for the joint activity. The US fully supports the principles of "Partnership for Peace", the US Embassy representatives said.
