European Commission names Armenian Education Ministry’s program best case![]() February 23, 2012 - 12:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia implemented five programs in 2010-2011 within the framework of TAIEX project realized under the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) in Armenia. Programs dealt with provision of higher education quality, continuing medical education, introduction of Europass in the sphere of vocational education and continuing education issues. According to the Ministry of Education and Science, the European Commission recognized the “Introduction of Europass system in the sphere of vocational education” workshop organized jointly by the Armenian Ministry of Education and Science and the National Information Center for Academic Recognition and Mobility in 2011 as best case. It will be included in the EC TAIEX Action Plan 2011 report. TAIEX or the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange is an instrument of the Institution Building unit of Directorate-General Enlargement of the European Commission. TAIEX was set up in 1996 to support the faster implementation of the EU acquis in the Candidate Countries by compulsory transposition. In 2006, there was a gradual extension in the use of the instrument to the Neighboring countries and Russia to promote the voluntary approximation of the EU acquis on the basis of commonly shared norms. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
