UN-Arab League envoy Annan invited to Russia for Syria talks![]() February 29, 2012 - 18:08 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia has invited Kofi Annan, the UN-Arab League special envoy on Syria, to travel to Moscow for “consultations” on Syria, a Foreign Ministry official said Wednesday, February 29.“He has received our invitation,” said vice foreign minister Gennady Gatilov, according to Interfax news agency. As M&C reported citing DPA, there was no initial indication from Moscow whether Annan would take up the offer. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
