VYACHESLAV TRUBNIKOV: "NAGORNO KARABAKH IS ONE ISSUE, SEIZURE OF AZERI LANDS IS ANOTHER"

PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy foreign minister of Russia Vyacheslav Trubnikov comes for enlargement of the format of talks over settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. As reported by Zerkalo Baku newspaper, he told journalists about it in Baku yesterday. In his opinion, speaking only with Armenia and Azerbaijan is not complete, as any solution of the Karabakh problem has to be acceptable both for Armenians and Azeris of Nagorno Karabakh. Turning to the topic of the seized Azeri territories, the Russian diplomat stated: "Nagorno Karabakh is one issue, and the seizure of Azeri territories by Armenians is another." In his words, forming a climate of confidence will contribute to liberation of the territories. "The more revanchist rhetoric by representatives of political forces and the society of Azerbaijan, who are for solving the conflict via force, the more difficult to convince the Armenian party that it is necessary to liberate the seized territories," V. Trubnikov said. In his opinion, the present state of "neither war, nor peace" cannot continue. "In any case an end should be put to the problem. It first of all depends on Yerevan and Baku how this will be done. Ilham Aliyev and Robert Kocharian are of the same age, are close by their perception of today's reality - they may find a new formula, a novel approach to the problem.
