Heritage calls on national-democratic forces to unite![]() March 2, 2012 - 18:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan hosted 7th convention of Heritage opposition party, during which a resolution was adopted calling on national-democratic forces and civil society members to “take joint steps towards substantial consolidation engaging every possible way, such as elections and public unanimity.” The meeting welcomed the cooperation of Heritage with political and civil partners, setting March 18 as the date for party’s council meeting. Party leader Raffi Hovhannisian sharply criticized domestic and foreign policy pursued by the authorities, namely by Armenian President and ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA). Free Democrats party representatives Khachatur Kokobelyan, Ararat Zurabyan and Anush Sedrakyan, delegation of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) comprising Stepan Dermichyan, Petros Makeyan and Aram Sargsyan, Prosperous Armenia members Naira Zohrabyan and Vartan Oskanian, ARF Dashnaktsutyun representatives Vahan Hovhannisyan and Armen Rustamyan attended the meeting as guests. Despite media rumors, there was no announcement regarding merger of Heritage and Free Democrats. However, agreement on the above said was confirmed. It is noteworthy, that many among the guests present at the convention hailed cooperation between the two parties in their speeches. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
