Rumor: CNN to buy Mashable for $200 millionMarch 12, 2012 - 11:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - CNN will reportedly buy social media blog Mashable for more than $200 million, Reuters blogger Felix Salmon said. According to Venture Beat, Salmon said that a source told him that CNN will announce the deal on Tuesday, March 13. Mashable is unavailable to confirm anything at the moment. The deal price is a big one, considering that Mashable was founded by Pete Cashmore from his home in Aberdeen, Scotland in July 2005.
