The annual event, a European answer to the US VMA's, will take place in November 11th at the Festhalle venue in Frankfurt. The event was previously held in Frankfurt in 2001. Selena Gomez hosted the awards in 2011, when the event was held in Belfast, Ireland. Speaking about the decision to host the EMAs in Frankfurt, Viacom International Media Networks president Bob Bakish said this years event will be "one of the biggest nights in music on the planet" and "showcase talent from the US to Europe to Asia to everywhere in between."
