Tycoon Ruben Hayrapetyan may run for parliament, paper saysMarch 20, 2012 - 09:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Current member of parliament, President of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) Ruben Hayrapetyan may change his mind by March 22 towards running in constituency 1 in Yerevan’s Avan district. “I’ve persuaded my friend Ruben Hayrapetyan to nominate his candidacy. I want him to be in the parliament; otherwise I’ll be alone there,” member of the National Assembly Samvel Alexanyan told a reporter of Zhamanak paper. Previously Hayrapetyan had announced that Alexanyan is the only person in Armenia who can persuade him into taking part in the elections. So, the potential deputy mandate of RPA-supported Edik Gevorgyan, dean of the history faculty of State Pedagogical University may be jeopardized. The paper also reminds that Heritage party member Stepan Safaryan is going to stand for elections in this very constituency, maybe joined by another candidate, Armenian National Congress member Zoya Tadevosyan as well.
