PROTOCOL ON MILITARY AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO CSTO MEMBER-STATES ELABORATED

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has worked out a draft Protocol on military and technical assistance to the CSTO member-states, SCTO Secretariat's press center reported. According to Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha, "the protocol is a part of mechanism of interaction between the state bodies according to the fourth chapter of the Collective Security Treaty on military and technical assistance. In his words, the document formulates certain situations including training to prevent aggression, international terrorism and threats to the territorial integrity and sovereignty. According to the draft protocol, military and technical assistance is rendered by request of one or several parties. The appeal is addressed to the chairman of the Collective Security Council - the supreme CSTO body - headed by the leaders of the CSTO member-states. The appeal should contain the desired list, volume and terms; afterwards it will be submitted to the discussion of the Organization members. To remind, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan serve on the CSTO.
