Capsule with commemorative note laid in Matenadaran new building foundation

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, Matenadaran, is celebrating the 50th anniversary in 2009.

Today, a capsule with commemorative note was laid in the foundation of Matenadaran new building.

The ceremony was attended by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, Matenadaran director Hrachya Tamrazyan, architect Arthur Meschyan and a number of high raking officials.

"The new building will provide a climate for scientific events. The main building will have 6 exposition halls. The façade of the building will remain unchangeable. A small part of the new building will be seen from Mashtots Avenue," architect Arthur Meschyan said.

Construction of the new building will be presumably finished by September 11, 2011.
