US ARMENIANS CONFIRMED RESOLUTION TO ACHIEVE RECOGNITION OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE TO ANKARA ENVOY

PanARMENIAN.Net - At the request of the Turkish Consulate General of Los Angeles, leadership of influential Armenian organizations of California met with a Turkish foreign ministry official Ecvet Tezcan in Los Angeles June 17. In the course of the meeting, as reported by the Armenian Assembly of America, Tezcan briefed the group on his mission to establish a dialogue with the Armenian Diaspora not only in America, but also throughout the world. Prior to that meeting, Tezcan met with representatives of the Armenian Assembly, the Armenian General Benevolent Union, and the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, who underscored the community message that Armenian-Americans are united in their insistence that Ankara deal with the issue of the Armenian Genocide of 1915, establish normal relations with Armenia that are not dictated by the Azerbaijani position on Nagorno Karabakh and end oppression of the Armenian minorities in Turkey.
