U.S. PRESIDENT WILL REMAIN IN MEMORY OF ARMENIANS AS AN ACCOMPLICE IN GENOCIDE, STATEMENT BY UNION OF ARMENIANS OF RUSSIA READS

PanARMENIAN.Net - 31.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. "The US President Bill Clinton and the representatives of his administration will remain in the memory of the Armenian people as accomplice in genocide. Explanation of his actions and statement to a respective body of power, as well as "sympathy" expressed to the Armenian people will be fixed in the history as a sample of political cynicism and hypocrisy," the statement of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR) reads.

The statement was caused by the letter of the US President Bill Clinton to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Dennis Hastart, after which the resolution on the Armenian genocide was moved from the agenda of the House.

"We protest against the policy of dual standards regarding this crime pursued by the incumbent president of the U.S. The Armenians of Russia categorically reject hypocritical statements by the supporters of murderers of Armenians, their alleged statements that hushing up of the perpetrated crime would contribute to the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia and therefore meets the interests of the Armenian people," the statement by the Union reads. --0--
