THE PRESIDENTS OF THE THREE SOUTH CAUCASIAN STATES AND RUSSIA MAY DISCUSS THE "CAUCASIAN STABILITY PACT" PROJECT IN YALTA

PanARMENIAN.Net - 15.08.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The meeting of the heads of the three South Caucasian states and Russia in "3+1" format will take place at the forthcoming informal summit of the heads of the CIS states in the Crimea.

At the meeting of the "Caucasian Four" the so-called idea of the Stability Pact for the South Caucasus is particularly supposed to be discussed, writes "GazetaSNG.Ru" quoting reliable sources.

During the last 6 months the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan had spoken several times with separate proposals for establishing a regional security system.

The discussion of the Pact idea in "3+1" format witnesses the possibility of setting "Russian dominant" in the questions of providing of regional security, however, by some data, the Georgian side is categorically not agreeable to such perspective, writes "GazetaSNG.Ru". -0-
