Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borisov in Yerevan.

“Our countries have deeply rooted historic and friendly ties, and we believe we must expand and strengthen these relations,” governmental press service quotes Armenian PM as saying.

For his part, Mr. Borisov emphasized the role of the Armenian community which “firmly bridges Armenia and Bulgaria”.

Mentioning that the turnover between the two countries makes USD 60 mln, the two men stated that this level comes short of the friendly bilateral ties. The PMs agreed to organize a business forum in Bulgaria involving entrepreneurs from both countries.

With regard to European integration issues, PM Sargsyan pointed out that Bulgaria’s experience will be useful for Armenia in reform implementation.

Development of cooperation in the fields of tourism, IT, education, etc was also on the agenda.

An agreement on cooperation in social security, as well as a memorandum of cooperation between Yerevan State Pedagogical University and University of Sofia were signed at the meeting.
