JANUARY 6 DAY OFF IN GLENDALE SCHOOLS DUE TO ARMENIAN CHURCH DAY
On the initiative of the Armenian community of Glendale city January 6 is announced a day off on the occasion of the Day of the Armenian Church. The decision was passed by the City Administration taking into account the fact that January 6 Armenian children do not attend school, as the day is traditionally marked as Christmas. As reported by Liberty radio station, thereupon schools do not suffer damage in financial respect and in addition the request of Armenians is respected. Now it is the turn of April 24, when Armenians of the world, including those in the US, mourn for their compatriots killed in the Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915.
