The leadership of the Armenian Assembly of America (AAA) is ready to resume dialogue with the representatives of the Turkish MFA on the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations, the AAA responded to the invitation of senior Turkish official Ecvet Tezcan. At the same time the AAA leaders stated of inadmissibility of holding the meeting during the month of April, as proposed by the Turkish party. The AAA reminded that this solemn month for all Armenians is a time for remembrance of the Armenian Genocide victims. The AAA leadership also offered the Turkish party to "lay out our objectives" prior to any future discussions, as "a dialogue without results is meaningless". To remind, similar meetings with Tezcan, during which the Armenian party urged Turkey to deal with the issue of the Armenian Genocide, establish normal relations with Armenia that are not dictated by the position on Nagorno Karabakh and end restrictions and pressure on the Armenian minority in Turkey, took place in New York and Los Angeles last June. According to Assembly Board of Directors Chairman Peter Vosbikian, though there was no breakthrough after the June discussion, it still provided an opportunity for a "frank exchange of views". But nearly ten months since the last face-to-face encounter, there has been no change in Turkish attitudes or behavior towards the claims of the Armenian side.
