ARMENIAN DEBT TO TURKMENISTAN FOR GAS SUPPLY TWICE REDUCED WITHIN LATEST 6 MONTHS
The Armenian debt to Turkmenistan for the natural gas supplied makes $6 million. As the press service of the ministry of finance and economy of Armenia told "Arka" agency, Armenia has transferred $5.5 million to Turkmenistan out of the total debt of $11.5 million since October 2002. Turkmen Central Bank notification on receiving the sum is available. Besides, goods for the sum of $3 million are supplied, but the Armenian party has not received notification on receiving them yet. A representative of the ministry pointed out that the debt to Turkmenistan was planned to be paid back in full before the end of the former half year of 2003. Let us remind that according to reports of a number of agencies, the other day the International Monetary Fund obliged Armenia to cover the debt to Turkmenistan.
