Armenian Prime Minster Tigran Sargsyan met with Foreign Minster of Belarus Sergei Martynov. Welcoming the guest, the Prime Minster hailed the friendly relations between the two countries and the economic potential for development and expansion of bilateral ties.
“We must take necessary steps to strengthen economic relations,” RA government’s press service quoted Prime Minster Sargsyan as saying.
The two men underscored the importance of Armenian-Belarusian inter-governmental committee, the next meeting of which is due in fall, 2012 in Minsk. They further discussed issues related to the possibility of getting the Belarusian side engaged in the construction works of North-South highway in Armenia, the new nuclear unit, as well as operation of the Belarusian agricultural leasing company.
Replenishment of the bus fleet and Yerevan’s elevators with Belarusian busses and elevators was also on discussion agenda.
RA Prime Minster and Foreign Minster of Belarus deemed Armenian-Belarusian cooperation in the fields of nuclear energy and tourism industry perspective.
Upon completion of the meeting a memorandum of cooperation in the jewelry industry was signed between RA Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Finance of Belarus.
