ARMENIAN RULING COALITION PROPOSED OPPOSITION TO ENTER MORE ISSUES ON NEGOTIATION AGENDA
The Armenian ruling coalition took a decision to hold negotiations with representatives of the parliamentary opposition, says a statement adopted May 12 due to the outcomes of the political consultations conducted by the Republican Party, Orinats Yerkir and Dashnaktsutyun parties, which form the coalition. Representatives of those parties expressed readiness to discuss "the ways out of the situation created in Armenia after the presidential election in 2003" (having edited the latter a bit) and proposed to add 4 items to the negotiation agenda. Among these are the cooperation over the main items of reform of the Armenian Constitution, changes in the Electoral Code with bringing it to international standards as well as the cooperation in the struggle against corruption and working out the regulations for fulfilling the PACE resolutions.
