The strengthening of the relations between Armenia and Iran also has a favorable impact on the development of the whole region. This was stated in the course of today's meeting of Armenian President Robert Kocharian with Iranian Minister of Oil and Gas Bijan Zanganeh. In R. Kocharian's words, the deepening of cooperation in the field of energy is of key importance and Armenia is interested in successful realization of joint projects. It should be reminded that the basic agreement on the building of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline is being signed in Yerevan today. As noted by the meeting participants, the building of the gas pipeline will be important both for the Armenian-Iranian and regional cooperation.
